Affaires Musicales’ street organ was made in the town of St Just – St Rambert in France by Orgues Odin.
The Odin family work together to create stunning organs. Each one is carefully designed and created in their workshop, from the pipes and reeds inside to the hand-painted artwork on the exterior. Examples of their craftsmanship can be found around the world.
Sarah’s street organ, the centrepiece of Affaires Musicales, has both pipes and reeds to allow the player to create a variety of musical effects when performing. It has 27 notes available, and music is played using specially perforated cardboard cards. There are a small number of manufacturers of these in France, and Affaires Musicales has also created a few of our own musical arrangements right here in Adelaide.
